Thanks for this touching poem. I read through it twice and just have a few suggestions..

Fathers Advice

My father was a sheriff,
he knew what’s right and wrong,
he helped the weak and poor,
he never ducked a fight,
when it just came along.

And I will never forget
what he lived and what he said:
"Don't fight the evil with the evil,
fight for the good, my son,
you cannot kill the devil
find Him, cause he’s the one."

"Revenge belongs to God!
Try always to prevent
and if this effort fails,
it's you, who should defend."

Dad died some time ago,
I hear still, what he said:
"Don't fight the evil with the evil,
fight for the good, my son,
you cannot kill the devil
find Him, cause he’s the one."
(or: you cannot kill the devil
with your ambitious gun)

Just take, whatever you like…

Ach und bei Father’s advice fehlt das Apostroph…

Dad died a long time ago, müsste es eigentlich heißen, deswegen fände ich some time oder auch ten years ago besser…
